Our Services

Our core service includes the provision of waste management and renewable energy services, particularly in the area of waste-to-energy. This include services for waste-to-energy and waste management projects throughout the value chain from collection and pre-treatment to clean and efficient energy generation with state-of-the-art conversion technologies.

Waste-to-Energy Technologies

The waste problem has provided a significant market opportunity for sound waste-to-energy (WtE) plants which utilize MSW for the production of heat and electricity. As a solution, Waste-to-Energy technology is a strong potential contributor to energy security and diversification and matches the growing demand for renewable energy in a carbon-constrained world, not to mention the fact that it advances national security by reducing reliance on foreign energy. In recent years, technologies have been developed in the developed countries that not only help in generating substantial quantity of decentralized energy but also in reducing the quantity of waste for its safe disposal. The advantages for adopting technologies for energy recovery from urban wastes is to reduce the quantity of waste and net reduction in environmental pollution, besides generation of substantial amounts of energy. Hence the way to address the waste and sanitation problem that has bedevilled most of our cities in the developing countries is via this technology.

Waste-to-energy refers to the range of processes that cause waste to combust at high temperatures whereby heat energy is recovered to produce steam, which then drives a turbine to produce electricity. Waste-to-energy plants are a great way to reduce emissions and it is an alternative to fossil fuels and provides an important contribution towards reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Waste-to-energy is more than just garbage disposal; it is a modern way of recovering valuable resources and is a vital part of a sustainable waste management chain. Since this is an ecological and cost-effective way of energy recovery, PEL will work on large waste-to-energy schemes in Africa to provide sufficient power to the people of the continent at very affordable prices. This will be the PEL way of turning trash into treasure.
